ABOUT US

Great Woods Trading Company began as a dream to create something meaningful in a fast paced world that we scroll through faster than ever, with just a swipe of a finger. A need to hold on to forgotten tradition, and hand craft something to be proud of.

That need took the shape of soap and steel.

Two things that couldn't be further from each other, but two things that ultimately set Great Woods Trading into motion.

But before we get to that, a little something about who we are..

My name is Corey, and I have a giant beard. I'm proud of it. That guy in the sunglasses, that's Jason. He's my business partner and close friend. I've shared with him my vision for what Great Woods Trading Company should be and together we will bring it to life. And the reason?

It isn't for us. It's for our families, and because of our families. the ones who came before and the ones yet to come. It's to build something greater than ourselves and to include other families that are doing the same thing we are; working, striving, building a better life.

Now, let's get down to what we do..

I began practicing blacksmithing and soap making at the same time. They both struck a wonderful balance in me. The strength of one and the softness of the other made sense to me, because none of us are just one thing. We all have qualities in us that don't always fit the same mold.

The crafts of soap making and blacksmithing are two very intricate fields, and by no means am I a master at either, but I do promise to always put every bit of who I am into everything I create. Blacksmithing and soap making have so far fed each other in a way that the progress from one has helped to further the other.

But it won't stop there..

That's me, Corey Woods.

The goal of Great Woods Trading Company is to bring artists and crafters together, to be family. To create a crossroad between art and purpose.

Alright! It's Jason Philabaum!

We want to create a sense of community centered around people who create, and provide an avenue for crafters and artists to get their work further out into the world.

We plan to build GWTC into something bigger by offering local, high quality hand made products crafted by folks in our community. This road will be long and take hard work by all involved, but dreams are achievable when we work together with a common goal of lifting each other up.

If you are an artist or crafter and would like to speak with us about your work feel free to email us at unite@greatwoodstrading.com

Let's get back to a little bit about why we want to achieve our goals..
